The kid should be cited for and if he broke a law, calling a cop "Dude" is not illegal. The cop should be held 100% responsible for his abuse of power, totally losing control of his emotions and throwing down the kid without any reason. That's not what I asked. Sure, the cop should be held accountable for his actions which were a bit over reactive. The little urchin needs to be educated on becoming a responsible member of society. You are dilusional.. when a cop decides to be a bully, nothing stops him. Hell, that statey I talked about before told me once he did not like me "because I had mispronounced his name a few years earlier", which I had, quite innocently. He never treated me with respect, even though his peers who all knew, and mostly liked me did... I did a lot of work for the Ambulance crew and other public service orgs there, he was just an ass no matter how respectful you tried to be.. An attitude has a negative effect when dealing with cops. I am sure you have learned that lesson by now.- I have learned actually that it really makes little difference, most times they have decided how they are going to act before you even talk... |

Very cool, Harry! Shows you have 'character'. Cops are public servants, paid for by public tax dollars. If they cannot behave reasonably, they should be tossed off the police force. -- John H |

I was there and during the investigation the local took some kind of back handed cheap shot at my "marital status" (as if my wife and I don't talk or something). He had done it to impress a statey that was standing near. He admitted being an ass and why he had done it in a phone call he made to my wife the next day, I would not get on the phone, he had punked me in front of my kid (and I just stood there and said "yes sir") and I did not want to hear it from him.. I had know him for nearly 20 years at the time... |

Here, there was about a one year delay between the city banning skateboards in certain places, and signs actually going up in those places. If the same was true where that video was made, those kids may well have been honest when they asked what they did wrong. That cop was out of control. |

The cop could have, and most likely was told to politely ask him to refer to him as "officer". All the cop did was reinforce a negative stereotype of cops, and the cop was definitely not a responsible member of society. If I was a cop, I would be ashamed of that guy. I am sure many are. |
