What will it be running. not windows right?? I've been running Windows Server 2008 *beta* for many months on a backup machine, recently upgraded to the RC, and will be upgrading to the final, perhaps at the end of February. I also have Windows Home Server running on yet another machine. It's the one my wife and I use for daily backup and to store our music and videos. We each have a desktop and laptop we use here, and other machines we use elsewhere.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - What are you using to manage your backups? You can use rsync to back up Windows. You just need to use Cygwin. http://www.gaztronics.net/rsync.php |

You asked what we were using to manage backups. Windows Home Serve handles automated daily backups. I also use Acronis, but for something else. I think your daily shoveling of horse manure is your personal peter principle in action. |

But you are right on track, thanks as always, it was you that sent me to that testdisk program, I am listening.. ![]() |

Set it up once, run it as a cron job, and forget about it. |
