As a matter of fact, they have a biscuit recipe to die for! They use
yeast.

Ingredients:
1 package dry active yeast
2 teaspoons warm water
4 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
2 cups buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda

A half a cup of solid vegetable shortening!

No wonder you almost died.- Hide quoted text -

Damn you're stupid! Did you notice the amount that it makes? Show me a
biscuit recipe that has less vegetable shortening in it. You do
realize, don't you, that bread has a lot more per serving, don't you?
And I'll tell you another thing, you insuferable asshole, I'll
guarantee I'm in much better shape than your sorry fat ass. Again, you
stated that you'd punch me in the nose, and again, I'm ready. Let me
know.

What a waste of some really good calories. Hot Wings or Pizza is a much
better way to go.

I'm glad it wasn't shortening. "Fat Ho" wouldn't be a boat name to earn
kinkly remarks in Wash DC!

John, if you like biscuits, give that recipe a try, they are
excellent, especially with a good bowl of collards.

I try hard to stay away from biscuits and such. I'll buy a loaf of
Panerra's multigrain, and it'll last me a couple weeks. I'd be as big as
some other folks in here if I ate all the biscuits I'd love to eat!

I can pretty much eat what I want. I watch things, too, but I'm in the
dojo several times per week, either working out, teaching or sparing.

Hey, dojo reminds me of donuts.
Be a good name for a donut shop. "Dojo's Donuts."
Yesterday my wife made me biscuits and pork sausage gravy.
About 4 eggs and a couple pork patties on the side.
Damn can she cook!
Damn can I eat!
What I do is eat whatever I want when I want it, but make sure I
don't want it too much. I can live a few days on cereal, then get
a fat or meat craving and dig in. Then I don't even think of fatty
foods until the craving comes back. If it comes too soon, I know it
and suppress it.
I'm not slim, but not fat either, although the "nutritional
scientists" might say I am.
Think I learned to adjust my appetite when I was working in the office
and eating prime rib lunches downtown almost every day.
Got up to about 230. I didn't want to give up pizza so I made a deal
with myself that once a month I could eat all the pizza I wanted.
It worked, and got me to 180 in about six months, and I never felt
deprived because I knew I could pig out on pizza once a month.
Just can't imagine spending a lifetime not eating some good fatty
food. Rather make other adjustments.
Haven't been past 210 since then and usually around 200.
Of course there's the exercise part, but just walking and occasional
busy work seems to be enough for me.

Hmm,,,,,,,,, sounds interesting!

Every Saturday morning I eat exactly what I want for breakfast, just
like that!

That's exactly what I do. I take it the way Harry talks that he has no
self control.
