"Calif Bill" wrote in message ... The thing the struck me most about the Parkers at the last 2 boat shows, is the ugly color. Looks like an old yellowed gel coat. The 30-40 year old look is actually OK with me, but the color is a killer. At one time the "off white", sorta beige or dull yellow color was desirable and many boats, including Hatteras were done with it. It reduces the sun glare. At some point the industry decided that bright white was prettier, and the yellow died out. Reminds me of my father's 1955 Dodge Royal Lancer. When I was a kid I tried polishing the hood because it looked dull compared to the rest of the car. My dad got BS with me, despite my good intentions, because Dodge painted them with a dull finish on the hood to reduce glare. Eisboch |
