I helped take down my dealer's display at the Boston Covention Center today and transfer it to Hartford for the CMTA show this coming weekend. I had some down time, so I started talking to the Parker dealer and the subject of splash boards came up - I noticed that all the Parker boats on display had splash boards on the open transom boats. When I asked the question, he simply said that in his opinion, anyone who doesn't use a spash board is asking for trouble when backing down for any particular reason. Not to mention more water in the boat than is nececssary in certain sea states. Straight from the dealer. :) "The subject of splash boards came up..." Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck. It comes up down here, too, and among Parker owners. But for one in a survey about it, everyone has either removed it, or ordered their boat without it. Of course they do. Oddly, real fishermen, you know like those who play in the North Atlantic not sheltered bay, keep them on. Straight from the owners :-) Maybe one owner. Other's probably have more sense. Dear Abby, Ok, I have this great big hole in my transom, should I put up a splash boards or let the water rush in the way. Thanks, Sinking in the bay. There you go again. Reggie is compensating for the fact that he doesn't have the balls to list any of his possessions for fear he will be subject to the same crap he flings at everyone else. Bet on it. I don't believe the litte sh*t has a boat, either. Never did. |
