Do lefties simply lack good judgement on such a socio/political issue as bringing up politics in such a situation (I have been in similar situations involving lefties)? IS it POSSIBLE that the old fogies in the club are right about social class and wanting to exclude such persons due to poor judgement? It is possible that I am simply very disappointed in this guy that I am drawing wrong conclusions. You're correct. They think they are on a mission and you had better not differ with them. They will stamp and stammer, but not be able to produce a coherent debate. Is the tendency to do this a function of social class. Lefties (around here but prob not in most places) tend to be a lower social class so might not "get" the social prohibition against such a discussion in such circumstance. HOWEVER, I dont see most local low class rednecks (I assume they are righties) doing it. |
