We did Thanksgiving last year in a place in Las Vegas. The kitchenette at
Hilton Grand Vacation Villas had everything but a can opener. Odd.
Realized that one of the blades on my Swiss Army Knife is basically a P-38.
Worked well. As to keeping some of the old stuff, Those who served spent a
lot of time and energy in the service. I did not go to Viet Nam as some
here did, I got a cushy job with airlift wing, fixing radars in a nice air
conditioned shop at Travis AFB. But I still use the necklace and whistle we
had to wear if on the flight line. I now use it to hold my fishing license
holder. Here in Nannystate, you have to visibly wear your license.

had the experiences since the draft was probably disbanded by the time you
became eligible. Nothing you or Kanter say can diminish the pride and
memories, good or bad, that servicemen and women have. Just remember who

Perhaps it is not a reminder of "a war". There was no doubt some great
moments and individuals through out the span of that war, as in any
war. His memories may be more specific than you imagine... Just my

I've been given a couple. They make great items to donate to Salvation Army
for those who use them.

Electric bottle openers fall into the same category. A decent pipe wrench
will open just about any bottle.

I'm watching the first robin of this year sitting in the holly tree out the
window eating the holly berries.

Many electric can openers have removable cutting wheel assemblies
specifically so you can toss them in the dishwasher. Meanwhile, almost
nothing that comes in a can is nearly as good for you as fresh.

don't get it out of a can. Same goes for anchovies.

I don't own an electric can opener, they are breeding grounds for germs,
and I am not that old and feeble that I can not use on that can be
washed in the dishwasher.

Many electric can openers have removable cutting wheel assemblies
specifically so you can toss them in the dishwasher. Meanwhile, almost
nothing that comes in a can is nearly as good for you as fresh.




Reggie doesn't own a vacuum cleaner, either. He just gets down on the
floor, opens his mouth, and sucks.
