Mavericks surf contest most likely is a go.

We are already seeing 30+' swells.

I've been watching that system develop on the Weather Channel. All the
makings of a West Coast version of "The Perfect Storm".

Watch out.

When I was out there in Nov. the surf was just fair. But, hey, I also
got to see the Martinez beaver!

They have cables mounted in the beaver dam to pull it down if needed. One
of the beavers did die this morning. Was blind and they had taken it to the
vet for a checkup as it looked sick. One of the few places in the Sac Delta
where beavers are protected. I see them once in a while when fishing. But
they dig burrows in the levees and are a major factor in levee failures.

Pouring and winding to the extreme. Just noticed the gutters are
overflowing. Have a couple of large Alder trees and must have lost most of
the rest of the leaves last night. Neighbors garbage can blew over, and
street is littered with paper.

Bill,
If it has 30' waves, why do they call it the Pacific?

It seems likely to slam California from Point Conception, North. The
lowered the Channel Islands forecast to 6 to 8 Seas from the 12-14 foot
swells earlier predicted. Outside the islands, it is 11 to 14 now. That
said it is a gale here.
