Good site with all sorts of "survival" info, including a fairly long
section on boating ditch bags, life rafts, personal signaling GPS
devices, et cetera.

Compass, spare GPS/VHF handheld, spare batteries, SOLAS flares/smoke,
basic first aid kit, water purifying tablets, water proof matches,
candle, firestarter, two flashlights, survival blankets and a mirror.

You would probably laugh at the First Aid kit, but when I explain the
presence of some of the items, it all seems to make sense and people
