Cars?

How did we get off boats and onto cars? :)

I like the looks of this one.

See picture of "UK Amphicar number 2" for information on certain
structural and maintenance issues.

I think I can help here.
It all started with:

PhantMan wrote:
thought I
might do some window shopping for a smallish sailboat on Lake Lanier.

Next post was:
If you are intending to sail on Lanier, perhaps you'd want a sailboat
with wheels to run along the dry lake bed.

Remember now? ;-)

You must be a mind reader. I'll need wheels. Not for Lake Lanier, but
for sailing 400 miles down I-85 to I-65 to I-10 and home.
Thanks,
Rick

There is a place in Buford Ga near Lanier that corries some small
sailboats. But I can't recall the name. It is just north of a dealership
called "Boating Atlanta" on buford hwy.

Boating Atlanta carries some sailboats as well. I would also look down
Holiday Road. Lots of boat dealers (new and used) there.

Wouldn't be Snug Harbor would it? And Buford Hwy, does it run up the
East side of the Lake? or the West side?

I just heard back from my former girlfriend up there who reminded me
of the Marina that has the storage yards I saw. It's Aqualand Marina.
Has quite a few boats in dry storage and has lots of slips as well.
When I was there, the water level was normal. Those slips may be dry
by now I suppose.

Okay, thanks

Rick

I just got a "heads up" from the boat broker. He says the buyer of
the
Navigator is going to request that he be given free use of my slip for
the
rest of the winter.

'Nother heads up" Marinas usually require a contract review, or
signing when owners change. Proof of liability insurance, and to be
named on the policy. Hope your buyer brings vaseline. Unless you own
the slip, This looks as if it could get messy. Could lose the slip.
Write a separate contract stating that with 30 days notice it will be
returned to you. Notarize, and file at county records. Just MHO Stay
sharp!

Looking along the lines of a Catalina 22 +/- or similar. Last time I
toured that area (2 yrs ago), I saw a couple boat storage yards with
For Sale signs on quite a few boats. I wasn't shopping then though. I
don't know if I can find those same storage yards again, but I'll try.
Meanwhile, is there an area in particular where I need to look? Or
Brokers I need to put on my shopping list? Or other suggestions?
TIA,
Rick

Ah ha! I always thought Waylon Smithers had 'training wheels' on his
imaginary boat....... now I realize it's to help roll along the lake
bottom.

The puppy said "Ah ha!". Ask your boy if that's cool when he's got a
minute for you.

....and speaking about slithering along the bottom.............

You can justify it however you want, Donnie. Whatever works for you.

We own the slip. It's winter storage use only.
