Do people actually use google to access usenet?

GoogleGroups, yes. I do. Sad but true!

My bet would be yes, how would google know that I access this via ripco?

Oci-One, the men in black are on to me now - complements of the YL -
such stories I could tell but I have to ZERO. Sorry.

They do if they don't have Usenet access to the group from somewhere,
like my office. But I like Usenet better.

Yeah, I liked direct Usenet access better too, using trn in Unix on
the Sun workstations at school where I discovered newsgroups, before
the WWW even existed!

And to think that was only...15 years ago! ;-) Damn, how time flies
when yer old!

I still use tin with a unix shell access account... course I do admit
I use a cable provider for net access, not a 300baud modem anymore...
I lent my Hayes Smartmodem 300 to someone long ago and I'm pretty sure
they pitched it by now...
