It's all relative. Larger boats cost a lot to maintain, no secret, it just comes with the territory. How large is too large? Ours is small compared to some around here. Please explain to all of us where the humor is. |

It would be interesting to do a return on cost analysis in terms of hours cruised, hours used or miles traveled on a new, small boat like Harry's and an almost 30 year old floating RV like the GB(s). My hunch is that if being on the water is your thing, you are getting a bigger bang for the buck with the big boats. Eisboch |

"return" need not be necessarily financial. I just can't picture Wayne and his wife making yearly trips from Florida to the northeast in a 20' Parker. Eisboch |

It would be fairly easy to run the numbers but I have no interest whatsover in knowing my cost per hour or cost per mile. :-) That would take some of the fun out of it. Let the good times roll... |

I screwed that up. I didn't mean a financial return. More of a "use" return. Eisboch |

It would take all the fun out of it. When I had my Contenders, other than fuel usage, I was like you - I didn't want to know the total operating cost. If only because I couldn't justify the boats if I did know. :) However, Mrs. Wave, being the practical Irish lady she is, knew it to the penny. ~~ mutter ~~ |
