We'll take Harry's boat. :)

I think you ought to take Wayne's boat. It's got that high transom and
no "transom-ission," so it ought to do quite well out there.

Better to take Harry's. It would be good training for the submarine
service.

I need a giggle...how much is it going to cost for that tranny repair?

About as much as your new Parker ... sans engine.

I honestly don't know but it won't be cheap.

Who cares?

Ohhh yes.

At least we didn't have that here last night, just wind and rain.

It's been almost 5 years since I've seen snow and can't say that I
miss it.

Really? How delightful!

I was guessing $10,000, tops. Your estimate is *w-a-y* over that!

Not me; I just want a giggle.

Just watching the bouy data - man, it looks a little steep out your
way.

Wave height at mouth of our harbour is already 7 feet and the storm
'Noel' doesn't get here until late this afternoon.

I am sitting here at the chart table in the pilothouse and the wind is
howling pretty good now.
There's a 46' Bertram convertible beside me and everyonce in a while it
bounces towards me while my boat is moving towards it. It happens fast
and makes me jump when I catch it out of the corner of my eye.

It's amazing. The wind is moving this 40K+ pound boat around like a
toothpick.
Hope all our lines hold.

I also thought I saw snow mixed in with the rain. That's depressing.

That reminds me of the poor sailor who had his wooden vessel tied up
opposite a WW2 Corvette during Juan 4 years ago. The larger steel boat kept
smashing into it until the wooden boat sank near a major sewer outlet.

Harry, why would you want to giggle at the misfortune of someone having a
high repair bill? That makes little sense.

Just a bit of humor at the follies of owning too large of a HT boat.

It's all relative. Larger boats cost a lot to maintain, no secret, it
just comes with the territory. How large is too large? Ours is small
compared to some around here.

Please explain to all of us where the humor is.

It would be interesting to do a return on cost analysis in terms of hours
cruised, hours used or miles traveled on a new, small boat like Harry's and
an almost 30 year old floating RV like the GB(s).

My hunch is that if being on the water is your thing, you are getting a
bigger bang for the buck with the big boats.

A return on cost analysis for a toy? I think not.
