Plan on buying a new early into next year. Did you get trailer plates before you left? How did you handle the trailer license? I just towed the boat/trailer back without plates. I still had the plates at home from my Sandpiper 565 sailboat trailer that I had sold from the month before, so I attached them as soon as I got back to Halifax. The fun came getting the trailer legal in Canada... needed two inspections... ...the first at Canadian Tire to make sure the trailer complied with our standards (federal) and then a provincial safety check. The only odd thing was that Tom's home state handles light duty trailers differently so I didn't have the usual vehicle permit type of documentation to present to the Nova Scotia Registry of Motor Vehicles. All worked out in the end...good think I'm retired with lots of time to run around. :-) |
