While at Suwanee River, we watched an interesting race. It had over
100 participants in teams of 2-4. It started with them all swimming across the Withlacoochee River at 3:00 pm and then using compass orienteering/running 20 miles to a point upriver on the Suwanee where they got in canoes. They canoed in the dark down to and past the park and back up the Withlacoochee River and then back to the landing at the state park where they got on bicycles and road 20 miles in the dark on forest trails. Times ranged from 10 hours to 16 hours. |
