Here you go again, using words that have nothing to do with the
discussion
in progress. Who's telling you to say "communism"? 'Fess up. Who's

coaching
you?

Ah, the man with a million questions is up and about, assigning NG
homework
already.

Eisboch

It was a fair question, Eisboch. I mean, if you decided to try your hand at
making sourdough bread, and your wife said "Don't forget the time you tried
plumbing and flooded the basement", you'd probably wonder how her mind made
that leap. The same thing is happening here. It's a stupid kneejerk reaction
from a person pulling a word outta his ass with no idea what it means or how
it applies to the situation (which it clearly does not).

I don't like communism or socialism, but that's not what this is about.

A terrific honor for Al and the United States.

Yep, and congrats to him for his award and commitment, regardless
of
whether
global warming is indeed, man induced.

It's ironic that had he been declared the victor in 2000, it is
unlikely
he
would receiving a Nobel prize today.

Most republicans think that global warming isn't happening in any
way,
man made or otherwise.

Let the lemmings go. Hillary told them that, and they really don't
have the guts to challenge. They are just ready for communism, then
they won't have to think at all...

I personally don't think he has much interest in public office
anymore. I think our current president has made a lot of people
realize that it's not whether you do good for your country or not,
it's how many people you can get to vote for you no matter whether you
tell the truth or not, not matter if you run the country in an almost
secret state, or even if you run the country in a manner that makes us
look like idiots on a global scale.

Working yourself up into a frenzy daily here at wrecked.boats is probably
what put you in the hospital in the first place- why come back for more?

And right after world courts have declaired his movie to be a cartoon,
shows you how much of a joke Nobel now is.

You trivialize the issue of people being trained to use inflammatory words,
but it's not trivial.

I wonder who said this:

"I always say my real purpose is to attract the largest audience I can, and
hold it for as long as I can, so I can charge confiscatory advertising
rates,"

Most republicans think that global warming isn't happening in any way,
man made or otherwise. Imagine how awful they must feel realizing that
someone won the Nobel prize for something they believe to be
fictitous.

This is the citation of the Nobel Committee:

"Indications of changes in the earth's future climate must be treated
with the utmost seriousness, and with the precautionary principle
uppermost in our minds. Extensive climate changes may alter and
threaten the living conditions of much of mankind. They may induce
large-scale migration and lead to greater competition for the earth's
resources. Such changes will place particularly heavy burdens on the
world's most vulnerable countries. There may be increased danger of
violent conflicts and wars, within and between states."

So, if I have this straight, Gore won for proselytizing a less than
universally accepted "scientific" theory which, presumably, has led to
action which prevented (or not) possible future competition for
resources, possible future conflicts, and future wars which haven't
happened yet and which may (or may not) ever occur because they are
only a possibility.

I think is a great precedent! If one can win a Nobel Peace Prize for
preventing events from transpiring which never actually would have
happened anyway, than I am your man.

Year 2050: Shortwave Sportfishing's posting of the first rec.boats low
transom thread is finally received by the residents of Omicron Perseii
VIII, saving the Earth from brutal annexation.

Gimme my prize!! You can keep the medal, just give me the million
bucks.

It's a pretty reasonable statement, as long as "precautionary principle" is
carefully considered, which of course nobody agrees on. The other extreme's
probably a lousy idea: Don't look, don't think about it, don't talk about
it.

And, what's your brief definition of socialism ?
Explain as if you needed to say it in a short sentence
to a psychology class.

Nice try.
