It was a motoryacht (HTMY).

We were running side by side with them while taking pictures of a
sinking LT Parker (actually it was just down by the stern), when we
started taking incoming enemy fire. I immediately activated the
electronic counter measures which were very effective. Unfortunately
the HTMY was not so equipped and suffered irreparable damage from
incoming flak.

The LTP sped off mumbling something about how we were burning all of
*his* oil.

There were clearly signs of distress.

Your opinion has certainly "evolved" since the days when you proudly
proclaimed your ownership of a Hatteras in rec.boats. :-)

And, the 36' Zimmerman like Lobsta boat!

Indeed, Chuck. After a four year war "for oil" that continues, $3+
prices at the pump, and the hard right working harder than ever to deny
the impact of global warming, it just seems "smarter" to downsize one's
energy consuming toys. I wouldn't mind seeing a substantial luxury tax
or energy surtax on oversized pleasure vehicles, luxury yachts, private
planes, et cetera.

Did you sell the 36' Zimmerman like Lobsta boat?

The surtax should be on the cost of the fuel in excess of X amount of
gallons used per month, not the item the fuel is used in.

No. Some people have to drive long distances to get to their jobs or in
connection with their jobs.

Why, shoudn't they be coerced into living within walking distance of
their work?

Harry believes the only fair tax are those that don't effect him. Since
he only owns a little low transom Parker, everyone who owns something
bigger should pay his (Harry's) portion of the tax. Since Harry lives
in the woods, he shouldn't have to pay for the gas he drives to get to
the city.

Wasn't that the guy who cut that big hole in the transom of your

So what?

Score another one for ETEC. The slower I go, the less fuel I use.

WHOO HOO!!!

How big is Chuck's engine - that's pretty efficient.

Hmmm - come to think of it, Doug King has a Sundowner - I'll ask him
his fuel mileage next time I chat with him.

It was a motoryacht (HTMY).

Did you use a tachyon particle beam through the deflector dish to
build a force field?

All the really cool people do that. :)

The LTP sped off mumbling something about how we were burning all of
*his* oil.

I've been reading about this new proposal for a "consumption tax" or
"fair tax" proposals - they are pretty much the same thing.

It's unbelievable.

Here's the kicker. Gas tax "revenue" is down in CT - for a couple of
reasons, one being it's cheaper in surrounding states so those of us
in border areas just take the ten minutes to save .30¢ a gallon and
two, gas useage is down - thus revenues are down.

So now, they are studying the possibility of a "mileage" tax - meaning
that there is going to be a tax on the number of miles you drive.

Or they claim they will have to raise the gasoline tax by .10¢.

Can't have decreasing "revenue" - no no no.
