Not us, we're still on LT patrol. There were a ton of boats out fishing off of Kent Island today near the R88 buoy. We were headed east, not south, still looking for foto ops. From Annapolis we took a little excursion up the Wye River and ended up in St Micheals as we close in on the quarry. The bay was nearly flat except for the occasional freighter wake. "The Bay" has a number of weather patterns sometimes, with hardly any waves in one section and two to three footers in another. The trip to St. Michaels is a pretty one, and the town is very nice. Nice restaurants, too, though they are charging haute cuisine prices for pretty ordinary fare. The side of St. Michaels harbor opposite the museum as you head out towards the river is quite shallow in places. Friend of mine ran soft aground in his 40-footer once. No damage. |
