If I were in your shoes, I'd try making up SSN's. Hell, illegal aliens by
the millions get by with it here, no reason you shouldn't.
You're advising a businessman to break the law and provide fraudlent
information to the US gov't?
Are you Canadians subject to USA law while in Canada?
I don't think so, but anyone following the earlier poor advice would
sure as hell find himself in serious trouble.

Transpose a couple digits. If he gets caught, he made a mistake.

But if you SSN does not match your parcel address, you will never
recieve it. Your money wasted.

Why should it match? My shipping address and my SSN have nothing in common.

The address being shipped to and the home of the SSN holder need to be
the same.
Hey guys, don't give me the 3rd degree. I don't make the laws, I just
abide by them.

:Maybe I am confused but who can match a SSN to an address besides IRS?
:SSA has not heard from me since I lived in DC, 45 years and 15 or 16
:addresses ago.
:Even the IRS only has the address you filed your last income tax from
:and that may not be the same place you live now or ship something to.
:(business address, second home, gift recipient etc)

As of a couple years ago, it's necessary to provide customs with the
importer identification number, on shipments with a value greater that
US$2000. For shipments less than that, you only need to provide name
and address. The importer id number needn't be your SSN; it can be
any taxpayer ID number that the IRS has issued you (or the corporate
entity that's doing the importing.), as I understand the rules.
What's this is supposed to do, I have no clue.
