Doesn't matter. Bush has secured his place in history as the dumbest
and
worst president in this nation's history.

Irrelevant to the thread, just like you...

That is right.
I would mention that even though I voted for Bush as a conservative, I
would gladly have him hanged at this point. I say this because it is
important to have a VALID reason to substantiate your dislike and
missives.
Liberals tend to hate Bush for reasons that really don't exist, and that
often don't even matter to anyone of any maturity. The idea of this
thread
is an excellent example.

I'm not happy with Bush either, but we had no choice.

Either Algore, Jr or Kerry would have been MAJOR disasters for the
USA. It looks like the democrats are going to nominate another MAJOR
disaster for their Presidential nominee.

Mike Smith

You think either of those democrats would've been more disastrous for
the US than Bush?

Wow. I can't imagine what they would have done that would have ****ed
our country up as badly as Bush has.

Can you cite some examples of how that might have happened?

jps

Whoa.. Ho.. How'd Mike Smith sneak back in here without me noticing..
ROTFLMAO..

Hell .. Mike Smith is the worst Bushwhore pimp that has ever graced
usenet.. hmmm.. His specialty, though .. is attacking some posters
pre teenaged daughter, deceased mother or other family member that
has nothing to do with politics or usenet.. grin That **** scrubbing
******* has been employed by property management firms as an
apartment make ready man, for years.. hmmm.. until the catch him
playing usenet on their computers and they fire him.. Chemical fumes
from cleaning toilets has fried his brains, years ago..

Excuse the interruption here, but just thought I'd bring you to speed on
Mike Smith.. just in case you haven't dealt with him before.. Feel free to
carry on with regular programming .. Just don't expect reasonable dialog
with Mike Smith unless you are another Bushwhore like him..

No, no, no.

That would be Jimmy Carter who is universally regarded, even by his
own party, as the Worst President Ever.

How utterly laughable. Partisan illusion. You expose yourself.

During Carter's presidency the United States was beset by stagflation,
suffered massive fuel shortages, and struggled through several major
crises including the invasion of the American Embassy in Tehran and
the subsequent holding of embassy personnel as hostages by Islamic
Radicals.

He introduced a staggered increase in the payroll tax in a failed
attempt to bolster the Social Security. In foreign affairs, Carter
pursued the Camp David Accords (failed), the Panama Canal Treaties (as
in giving away a strategic component of national security) and the
second round of Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT) (unilateral
disarming).

The final year of his term was dominated by the Iran hostage crisis,
during which the United States struggled to rescue diplomats and
American citizens held hostage in Tehran.

By 1980, Carter was so unpopular that he was challenged byTed Kennedy
for the Democratic Party nomination in 1980. Carter eventually
received the nomination but lost the election, in a landslide, to
Republican Ronald Reagan.

Only three postwar presidents have gone lower than the current
President Bush - Jimmy Carter (lowest) , Nixon and Harry Truman. And
only one has had a higher disapproval rating, Nixon. Carter's
concurrent (as in during his Presidency) negative rating ratio was 5:1
- the lowest of ANY modern President.

Partisian my ass.

would have definitely gone Up.. Up... Up...

If Kerry had won, he would have already surrendered to al qaeda, and
apologized to Saddam for infringing on his country, while allowing
hundreds of thousands of Iraqis to be slaughtered by saddam. And he
would have raised our taxes.

That's just for starters...

The question isn't whether Ronald Reagan thought highly or poorly
of
GWB, it's whether this discussion belongs in a boating NG. I have a
few opinions of my own about the currently sitting POTUS, but pro
or
con they aren't appropriate for a non-political NG.

AGREED!

OK, I'll bite.

Who appointed Paul Volcker to the FED?

What Panamanian signed the Hay-Bunau Varilla Treaty?

What would prompt a nice conservative like RR to send arms to Iran, just two months after
they release the hostages?

If Carter's initiative to be energy independent by 2000 hadn't been dismantled by RR, do you
think we would be in Iraq today?

I'm sure your ass is just as partisan as the rest of you.

Unpopularity isn't necessarily the measurement of a president's success
or failure.

Carter was saddled with circumstances, some of which were beyond his
control, as is the case with all presidents. He was dealt a
particularly bad hand.

His successor dismantled oversight on banking and caused a giant debacle
featuring a good many of his cronies, Iran contra, created massive
deficits through tax cuts and trickle down economics... etc., etc.

You probably think he was a great man. He was well in the hand of Lew
Wasserman from before he was elected Governor of California. Another
puppet as the mercy of his handlers, just like the stooge we've got now.

You think Harry Truman was a bad president because of his approval
rating?

Bush makes them all look like pikers. Giuliani would make Bush look
mild. We'd be reliving the days when Stalin had Trotsky killed with an
ice pick.

Your party has gone off the cliff. Do me a favor, talk to your family
about it, if they'll consent to humor you with a conversation.

Not a lot of folks care to hear bigots like her yammer on about ho we

So, she's just trying to troll some people in from elsewhere - people
who want even LESS to talk about immigration than those in the topical
