the church connection. Is there something there we are not

There may be others who carry a firearm, but hunters and target
shooters
also carry them. When I go to a pistol range, I carry the weapon. If I

hunting, I carry a firearm.
Of course, I may not fit someone's definition of 'normal' !

I think I know what you are talking about, and "carrying" might mean
"packing heat" to some criminal elements, but I really don't think that

Speaking of fortuitous...how nice that you should mention Tilley hats as I
was in the market for a hat. And, at the same time, the closest store
carrying Tilley's was having a 20% off sale. Now we are both proud owners
of a Tilley. They are a very comfortable hat!

They are great hats. But, are they still claiming that they float? If so,
don't believe it for a moment. I lost one a couple of years ago when some
serious wind blew it off my head. It landed 10 feet away in the water, and
sank instantly.

precaution of tying it on. The wind cord is like a seatbelt: Useless Unless
Worn.

Lies! All lies! But still, it's a great hat. I've got the huge one - the
T2, if I recall. It's kept me dry even after 2 hours in the rain. It's a
hands-free umbrella.

I've had the 2nd widest brim model for years as my sailing hat. (T3)
Natural canvas colour with green underbrim. This one stiffens in heavy rain
and sheds 95% of the water.
Later on I bought a nylamtitum khaki coloured LT5 for walking to work.

The most common definition means a law abiding citizen carrying a
legally owned handgun, probably concealed, with a permit where required.

Let me make sure I understand this. In the west, it is common to see
people with a guy in a holster, in plan sight. Wouldn't they be
considered to be carrying?


That's called "open carry." Very few states allow that, typically states
out west, though I believe Virginia allows it.

Something about keeping and bearing arms shall not be infringed. As long
as it is on your hip....

I have three hats. all black of course;) I got my favorite which is a
oiled leather Aussi Outback. It looks like an American Cowboy Hat but
with a smaller brim. I have a woven hat more American style, the brim
is a little big for my taste though. It is a lot cooler in the summer
than the Outback. And after almost 50 years I tried on a leather ball
cap with a sort of stovetop shape and the wife said it looked great,
so now I have one of those. Makes me look like a real redneck with the
mirror glazzez...;) All great hats, both of the rimmed hats are
customized with teathers and such...
