I almost always listen to the "Classic" rock, but every once in a
while I'll switch to the 80's/90's side, depending on the song and/or
artist.

The alt/indie? eh.....

Each week has a theme, some better than others.

I'll check out that link Tim, thanks. Oh, and if your name is Short
Wave, or similar, you probably should lay off the Little Steven. Even
a small dose of the Dollyrots, or the Charms might just make your head
blow up;!

You guys cannot differentiate between beatniks and hippies? For shame! :|

There is no differance...

Yes, there is.

Beatnik = http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpo...3/krebsbig.gif

Hippie =

No difference.........my ass! :-)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maynard_G._Krebs

"The Krebs character, portrayed by actor Bob Denver, began as a
stereotypical beatnik, with a goatee, "hip" slang usage, and a
generally unkempt, bohemian appearance, studiously avoiding anything
resembling work, which he seemed to regard as the ultimate four-letter
word. Whenever the word was mentioned, even in a line like "That would
work," he would jump with fear, exclaiming, "Work!" He was a stark
contrast to the well-groomed, well-dressed, straitlaced Dobie, and the
contrast between the two friends provided much of the series' humor.

Gradually, he became less of a stereotyped beatnik and more a free
soul who did his own thing - including collecting tinfoil or petrified
frogs, seeing the old Endicott Building get torn down and seeing the
movie The Monster Who Devoured Cleveland (IN FACT, MAYNARD MIGHT BE
DESCRIBED AS THE PROTOTYPE OF THE LATE-60'S HIPPIE).

~~ emphasis mine ~~

Game. Set. Match.

There is no difference.

Yes, there is.

No there isn't.

"The Beat Generation gradually gave way to the Sixties counterculture,
accompanied by a shift in terminology from "beatnik" to "hippie." Many
of the original Beats remained active participants, notably Allen
Ginsberg, who became a fixture of the anti-war movement."

Here's yet another of the many daily attacks from "Harry Krause",
a frequent rec.boats poster, and if you count them up, you will see how
little he adds here in boating/fishing content or interesting reading.

Yes - but it's so seldom that I'm right, I take advantage of it.

I'm not like Chuck you know. :)
