Some. I found some breaking fish about two miles south of the marina, and tossed a tiny Clark's spoon at them. Turned out to be what we Yankees called "snapper blues." Small bluefish. Nice fighters on my my little five foot rod and 8# test line (with a 6" light wire leader). Did catch a nice keeper blue which will be the guest of honor at dinner tonight. Also caught a skate. I really don't enjoy catching them though they tug like crazy. They are large and a pain in the ass to release properly. Had to keep the tabs down while running. You can see their impact on the boat wake...on the starboard and port side. That bag in the lower corner...squid...a reliable fish snack food around here. http://tinyurl.com/2pvq55 On a boat that size there should be no need to keep the tabs down while running. Something is wrong with your set up. |
