Was I dreaming... or did I read somewhere that Evinrude will bump Johnson out of the small 'kicker' engine market with small versions of ETEC outboards? There has been talk of that for a while, but the technology doesn't translate well to engines smaller than 40 for some technical reason that I don't remember - has to do with RPM levels and cubic capacity. Not to mention price point. Which is not to say that they won't solve it eventually, there is just a technical problem at this point. |
