So this comment is in response from a northern neighbour.

Seen recently on American TV was that unregistered immigrants
contribute something of the order of at laest $940 billion to the US
economy!

Far be it for us to tell tyou how to run your country; a country
founded by immigrants and populated today by their descendants. But
maybe you should welcome those ten million, register them, either as
residents or bonfide workers, pay them a standard US wage and have
them pay taxes?

So what would happen if you made all these people legal and law
biding
tax payers? Would they start loosing their minimum wage jobs to
other
illegal who cross the border to under cut these wages with lower
under the
table wages? Oh wait, thats what is happening now. That could never
happen
again.
