Well, I went fishin' again yesterday, got another nice trout and a
bunch of huge panfish, don't eat panfish except calicos in fall and spring, no worms. Anyway, on the way in, the engine (8 horse) went to idle and would not come up until I took off the cover, and held open the carb. Small plastic piece that I had actually repaired several years ago broke, no problem with the engine though, phew... So I went to see the guys on Sullivan ave and got a new part, cost me almost six dollars! Like I told my dad, if that's the only repair I have to make this year, I am doing oh tay! On another note, I took back the Abu Garcia bait caster to the store, it sucked. It wanted 8-17 pound test line, but would not even adjust enough drag for 4 pound. Tried two of them, finally gave up. I will keep looking but I did get an old one I had rebuilt. It works ok, but I still prefer my little spinning rods. Still glad I'm not making repairs on anything bigger, even if it is slow, and lacking in some creature comforts. You know, no widescreeen, no john. ![]() |
