How hard is it to replace the impeller in my lower unit? Water pump

Default water pump

Not hard at all if it's an old OMC. If it's a merc or a newer volvo penta,
then it's a pain.

Why say you that? I've never changed a Volvo but I've done lots of
older Mercs and OMCs. There's not much difference.

OMC one plate one housing (6 total screws)... Piece of Cake...

The only bad thing is what damage did having a bad impeller cause.

Get a Seloc manual for your boat. They are cheap for the infomation they
provide.

I guess it was the volvo's from about 10 years ago that were easy. Four
screws on the back of the outdrive and pull the impeller out.

It's very, very easy... just take the old one out and put the new one in!
