![]() wrote in message ups.com... In the paddle group, they constantly post trip reports. Something like the stuff in my "Back to boating post". Anyone else been out lately? Where'd you go, wadidya do? Swim, fish, saw my bud up at the lake last week working on an engine. We had a tuft a year or two ago and have not spoken since, now we will probably go fishin' again soon. Amazing what an hour at the lake can do. Anyway, Has anyone been frekin' boating? Well, I must have missed you "Back to boating post" but yes, I have been frekin' boating. Thanks for asking. We went out on Saturday with a friend of my oldest son and her Mom. They have never spent much time in Boston and none of it on a boat so it was fun to act as a tour guide of sorts. We launched at 9:00AM and didn't get back to the ramp until 11:00PM. In addition to sight seeing we tried some fishing outside the harbor. There were too many highlights to detail them all but here's a sampling... As we headed out into the harbor we wondered why the USS Constitution wasn't in her berth. The question was soon answered however... http://www.monkeybutler.com/boat/2007_0715/01.jpg Open Fire! http://www.monkeybutler.com/boat/2007_0715/05.jpg http://www.monkeybutler.com/boat/2007_0715/07.jpg Fort Independence on Castle Island in South Boston on the background. Boston gangster James "Whitey" Bulger supposedly did much of his plotting there thinking that it would be difficult for the authorities to bug the location. http://www.monkeybutler.com/boat/2007_0715/11.jpg Not quite a bone in her teeth but it was interesting to see her actually moving. Note the difference in the bow waves of the CG RIB, the tug, and Old Ironsides. http://www.monkeybutler.com/boat/2007_0715/16.jpg Heading back to her berth in Charlestown with the Boston skyline in the background. http://www.monkeybutler.com/boat/2007_0715/17.jpg Spotted this guy with the same boat as me. He didn't even wave. http://www.monkeybutler.com/boat/2007_0715/01.jpg This is a fun place to stop on the way back. The Cambridgeside Galleria Mall.
