You ever get down to the Milford-Woodmont area on the Sound? I used to catch tons of porgies bottom fishing those waters, and also had a few places to troll for stripers. We used large, segmented sandworms for bait.- - Show quoted text - No, never fished the sound that far west, Blacks and Porgies most times off the coast of Clinton near Duck, and Menuntesuck Islands. Lots of great rocks just west of Clinton Beach, 100 yards from shore. I have also gone with a bud up in Mystic, couple of good rock piles there too. Stripers, I usually fish for at night, inside the mouth of the CT River, or off of the causeway at Saybrook Point. That's a nice night with the family for anyone interested, bring your lawn chairs, sleeping bags, and cooler. When they rebuilt the causeway (runs from the Saybrook Point Inn, to Kate Hepburns house) They made great accomodations for folks who want to fish there. Parking is a little sketchy though. The locals are accepting, as are the boys in blue down there as long as you don't get stupid. |
