So I'm rolling down the highway with the Ranger in tow cruising along
at 60. Passed an on ramp as I was being passed by a 18 wheeler. Lady
comes zooming down the on ramp yakking on the cell phone (hand held)
not paying attention until she sees me, then instead of slowing down
to enter traffic, she speeds up, cuts right in front of me, clips the
front of the truck. I jack on the brakes - trailer brakes locked up
with the trailer bunny hopping which pushed me over into the 18
wheeler - SCREECH!!

End result, truck totaled, driver's side squished - right front/left
front pushed to the wheels and the bed damn near sheared off.

Oh well - it was a nice truck.

So, this being Mrs. Wave's turn to select a new vehicle, she did.

A luxury pickup. Loaded with the same stuff in her Town Car - leather
seats, seat warmers, moon roof, extended cab, super duper stereo, full
power everything, DVD player of all things - this ain't no pickup
truck - it's a freakin' luxury car masquerading as a pickup truck.

~~sigh~~

I've been turned into a pansy.

Is the new one diesel?

No - gas. I won't buy one of the new diesels based on a lot of
different horror stories I've heard.

my 2004 Duramax at 60k miles has been horror free.

That's what? Ford? Chebby (spelled as Spanglish)? Klysler?

Everybody but one or two know that the GM trucks run Duramax Diesels. Built
by Isuzu. As opposed to Dodge and the Cummins and Ford with International
diesels.

A Chevy?

No - Freakin' - Way.

Those fords are so ugly, the it blinds drivers entering the freeway. ford
should be sued (but they got no money) by blinded women. sue the owners of
those blinding fords also.

The only thing GM ever built actually worth money was the Corvette.

Everything else is a waste of time and effort. :)

FORD RULES!!!! GM DROOLS!!!!

What's this? A rite of passage, knowing a catchy brand name chosen to give
old men a second chance at a hard-on?

That's a little strong I believe. :)

I was fencing with Bill's suggestion that it's odd to not immediately
recognize a branded item.

you didn't devise something like this.

If THEY can, YOU can too!

That's what we need in this world...more resourceful people.
Sure makes that 'merican infatuation with 'gotta have more power' look
silly.

Have you folks been watching the America's Cup at all? Great race! It's now
tied 2-2, New Zealand and Switzerland.
