Two interesting boat tests this week......

Got a chance to try out the new 59-foot Grand Banks Aleutian. They did
a nice job with this one- they didn't just build a good boat they
created a great experience.

Spent some time today on the new flybridge version of the 41-foot
American Tug. Adding the flybridge totally changed the look of this
boat, but at least they didn't try to hide it behind the false stack
like so many similar boats have done when adding a flybridge option to
the original pilothouse line.

I'm headed to Alaska tomorrow and will be gone about a week, and I'll
be writing up descriptions of these boats while I'm gone. When back I
*won't* post the descriptions here, (too much flak from the usual
suspects, and ex-pects), but I'll post the location of another NG
where they will be available.

By the way, I'll be travelling either on this little boat or a
sistership:

Somebody suggested I ask the cruise co to hoist "Indulgence" up to the
top deck and let her float in the swimming pool.....I could then say
she made it to Juneau and back in six days on her own bottom. That
would be some sort of record for an 8.5 -9-kt boat. :-)

Screw usual suspects, and ex-pects. Just post it here please... it *is*
boating related, and I'm sure many of us would be interested. Have a great
trip.

Isn't that the cruise line that always runs aground?

Or is riddled with Norwalk Virus?

Or something? :)

Have fun - enjoy.

Disney Cruise sounds wven worse with all the kids aboard. Wife and I like
to stay in a town longer than 6 hour stop of a cruise. We stopped in Grand
Cayman on a 16 day Panama Canal cruise. Had a hard time to get her off the
beach and on to the last tender.

Disney folks do well at keeping the kids entertained, and there are 'adult
only' swimming pools, snack bars, etc. on the ship. The kids don't get in
the way much.
