As long as they stay offshore I have no problem with them.
Unfortunately most of the buckaroos who buy these things prefer
running up and down the river and ICW where things are a lot calmer.
That's when home owners start getting teed off at the noise and
reckless behavior, and start donating to the Manatee Clubbers.

Next thing you know we have 5 new slow speed zones where none are
really needed except to stop these bozos.

And high fuel prices are less likely to deter these "boaters" than
some of the more typical. They normally don't run that many hours per
year, so even if operating costs get to $600 an hour guys who can
afford the price tag on a new go-fast boat could care less.

Definitely not my type of boating. I would however, like to drive a go-fast one time for the thrill and the experience. I still prefer my cruiser with all the amenities of home. My cottage ON the water so to say.
