wrote in message oups.com... One of my 250hp cummins 5.9bta's runs hot. I've been carefull to keep the rpm's low enough that it doesn't overheat but I need to find someone who really knows what they're doing to fix this. A highly recommended mechanic already tried most of the obvious things to no avail. Can anyone recommend a diesel mechanic in the Seattle area? Thanks, Neil I take it that it requires running under load to overheat. Take it for a short trip, feel the hoses for tightness/pressure. Follow the waters path in and out of heat exchangers, transmissions, exhaust manifolds etc. If hose going in is tight but going out slightly spongy there is your problem. Blockage! |
