As in 43 other states, it's likely you will need to qualify for a
Mass. "Boater's Education Card" to legally operate a boat in that
state.

Did you bother to visit the site Chuck posted, JimH? This information
can
be found the

The restrictions below apply to boats propelled by any type of motor,
whether or not the motor is the principal source of propulsion.

* A person under 12 years of age may operate a motorboat on
Massachusetts public waters only if accompanied on board and directly
supervised by a competent person 18 years of age or older.
* A person 12 through 15 years of age may operate a motorboat on
Massachusetts public waters only if he or she:
o Has passed a state-approved boating education course or ...
o Is accompanied on board and directly supervised by a
competent
person 18 years of age or older.
* A person 16 years of age or older may operate a motorboat on
Massachusetts public waters without age restrictions.

The statement Chuck made does not jive with the info you posted. Am I
missing something here?

Nate

The info I provided came from the link Chuck provided. It answered the
question quite well.

So you ignored the message he posted and went straight to the link to find
out his statement was wrong...but didn't know the statement was wrong cuz
you didn't pay attention to it...right? Am I still missing something? LOL

Nate

I read his message and then opened the link.

I suppose that could be humorous.
