I figure that if my feet are already wet, they won't get any wetter. I also like to spit into the wind when I go boating - it's easier than taking my glasses off and licking them for anti-fog purposes. I like to stick myself with a 6/0 hook figuring that anything smaller than that won't hurt as much and might possibly prevent another hook accident. When having a bad day with no hookups on fish, I will also pee into the water as the ancient Amerindian shaman did. According to legend, this was annointing the waters bringingt good luck. I figure that the fish just don't like to be ****ed on. I will always create a rat's nest on the casting reel I will be using that day. Normally takes me fifteen minutes to fix, however that fifteen minutes is well spent because it won't happen the rest of the trip. I will always break at least one leader to prevent another from being broken. I have a special pole that I will step on to prevent stepping on any of my good poles. I always fish on days starting with S, M, T, W and F. I never fish on any day ending in z. I never fish on the 32nd day of the month. I never fish on the 357th day of the year. I never fish during the 13th month of the year. So, anybody else want to contribute? ROTF. |

![]() "Chuck Gould" wrote in message ps.com... Anybody willing to admit to observing any particular superstitions when boating? You hear all sort of things, from "no bananas allowed aboard", to no whistling allowed, etc. Yup. The banana thing. One isn't a superstition though, at least years ago. If you have any doubt, you never "whistled" while you worked aboard a US Navy destroyer back in the 60's or 70's. Eisboch |
