Default johnson sailmaster with spun spline

I have a johnson sailmaster 8 hp. long shaft outboard with what
appears to be a spun spline on my powerhead crankshaft. I understand
that the crankshaft must be replaced in order to repair this. I could
use some advice from anybody familiar with this engine. Are rebuilt
powerheads available? Is replacing the crankshaft a reasonable repair?
