![]() "Calif Bill" wrote in message hlink.net... What diet did yo go on. Atkin's is unhealthy, and may end up with Kidney stones etc. I didn't subscribe to any of the commercial diets. I did a lot of reading on foods, healthy and not so healthy and just changed how and what I eat. No more donuts, cakes, etc. and more veggies, fruits and lean meats. I don't really worry about carbs, protein or even fat levels. My feeling is that too much emphasis is placed on these specific components in the commercial diets and not enough emphasis on considering food ... food. Basically, I think it's ok to indulge in just about anything as long as it's balanced and taken in moderation. It has worked so far for me. I've lost quite a bit of weight in a relatively short period of time and feel fine. The exercise helps big time also. Keeping the weight off is the next challenge and is the biggest downside of the various commercial diets IMO. They are too instructional and "easy". Maintaining the new weight requires a permanent lifestyle change that goes beyond dieting. You have to understand what you are doing, not simply following a guide. Eisboch |
