Seems like a nice little engine although a bit heavier than I would have liked. |

I started a series of lessons, but it's been too cold to practice, so I've taken only one. -- ***** Have a super day! ***** John H |

I pick up my big TV today, this cold wet weekend should not bother me abit. |

That's the day we *had* to go shopping for a new car for the wife, and take her old one to Carmax to get an offer. What a wasted day! -- ***** Have a super day! ***** John H |

I wish I had a treadmill! -- ***** Have a super day! ***** John H Speaking of treadmills ... get one! Since giving up the Florida winter snowbirding, I was very fearful of another cold, wet winter and the depression that it causes. The boats are on the hard (well, the GB is ... the Navigator is in wet storage), the cars are stored away and the motorcycle's in the barn with a battery maintainer on it. So ... on October 23rd I decided to start a long overdue personal upgrade. Like many, the pounds had crept up, too many years sitting behind a desk had made me soft and the decline was starting to accelerate as the time went by. After doing a lot of Internet research, I committed to a serious diet and exercise routine on that date. The diet is more than simply watching calories ... I've done a bunch of research on what constitutes "healthy" eating and was somewhat shocked. I always thought I ate healthy ... just too much. I was wrong. Anyway, almost three and a half months later, I've dropped 50 pounds. I use a treadmill and/or an elliptical machine everyday for a cardiovascular workout and do heavy weightlifting routines every other day. I log and track everything in an Excel spreadsheet and it's fun and rewarding to look back a month or so and see the progress. Since January 1st I've done over 80 miles on the treadmill/elliptical at an increasing speed and incline or resistance level. The weight lifting is fantastic exercise but must be done carefully. I do 3-5 sets of various multiple rep workouts using enough weight on each to just about bring the muscles to failure. Each day though, the number of reps increases, so more weight has to be added. The downside is that I've had to go buy a completely new wardrobe. My old Levis and Dockers fall off. I've dropped three waist sizes. I haven't felt this good in 30 years. Surprisingly, it only takes an hour or so a day. I am getting close to my final goal weight wise, and have slowed the decline by adding more daily calories for a "soft landing". I'll always continue the exercise routines. I even invested in a new, Trek Hybrid road bicycle which I'll use when the warmer weather arrives. Feels good. Eisboch |
