I'll have to give the elliptical a tryout next time I go to the gym. You
and Rick have definitely got me interested. I wonder if would fit on the
back of my boat. Hell, trolling would be a lot less boring with something
else to do.

That would make his current boat go too fast in the bathtub. I thought he
gave his boat away.

Then I wouldn't have to pedal it. It'd just go by itself! Now that I'm
thinking about the boat again, I've got to get it registered in Virginia. I
hate paperwork.

Very interesting, thanks. I notice that Dick's has the e-25 on sale for
$999.

That's where I ended up buying mine.

Bought one today, but a Nautilus. It seems the smoothest running for both
of us.

Another good one. Have you tried a good, moderate resistance, 30-40
minute workout yet?
It took me a few days to get used to it, but now I prefer it over the
treadmill.

If I had one of these [ http://zimmermanmarine.com/z36/yourz36/ ], I'd put
that Nautilus right at the bow.

It won't be delivered until Wednesday. I gave it a good 3-minute workout
at the store!

Don't be surprised if it sets you on your ass for a while. I think I
mentioned that even though I had been doing 2.5 - 4 miles a day for almost 2
months on the treadmill at an ever-increasing rate and incline, the first
10 minutes on the elliptical with the resistance set at level 7 had my legs
shaking.

Currently, I do a 30 minute workout on it with the resistance starting at
level 7 and automatically increasing as I go, up to level 13 where it stays
for about 10 minutes, then starts a slow decline back to about level 7. I
do 2 miles on it, then do another mile or two on the treadmill. It's a
great workout.

After three minutes, my knees were telling me they had had "enough for
now." Hey, six or seven Tylenol before I start and I'm sure my knees will
make it to five minutes in a few weeks!

Actually, if I warm up on our treadmill first, I'm sure my knees will give
me a little less trouble.

It doesn't seem to bother my knees at all. Of course, I *am* much younger
than you. :-)

I discovered that, for me, doing the elliptical first, then the treadmill
works out better.
The motion transition going from treadmill to elliptical screwed me up.

You Amity boys had fancier gyms to work out in than us Hillhouse boys.

Prettier girls, too.

I have tried the ellipticals at the gym, but seem to not have the hang of
them yet. Stair Master is a killer though.
