After about a year of work, finding the period correct, like new,
engine, repowering, flushing fuel tanks, polishing gelcoat... It finally went into the water. It was a beautiful day in Daytona Beach on Saturday, in the 70's. We put in in the late afternoon, cruised a few miles up the intracoastal waterway to Ponce DeLeon Inlet, rounded by the coast guard station and came back in the west channel. Everything ran perfect. Next will be some teak care, I will probably clean and varnish the teak. Nothing like a 20 year old South Florida classic, reliving her glory days. The only thing missing is a 160lb Tarpon Jerry http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/DSC00888.jpg |

At least you won't have a lot of teak to fiddle with, I hear it can be a major problem to maintain brightwork down in Florida. At 20, she isn't re-living her glory days, it looks to me like she's just hitting her stride. :-) |
