Default Sodablasting hull...

I had an aluminum boat treated like this years ago, and it blew the epoxy
right out of the seams (which we hadn't know was there - recognized and
re-epoxied, no big deal...). FWIW.

I'm not sure if it was the same process, however. It was called "wet
sandblasting", done by a pressure-cleaning company. That might just be sand,
but with water(?).

A nearby boater flouted our local boat club rules and soda-blasted his own
(steel) boat some years ago, and I was rinsing black grit off my boat (from
wind drift) all season... it eventually all did come out, largely from rain
action, I think.

Anybody here ever have their hulls soda blasted?

I want to remove the bottom paint on my Ranger and it seems chemical
stripping is going to be really expensive - like $3,000...

According to somebody I just talked to, I can have the Ranger done for
less than a 1/4 of that price if it's soda blasted and you don't have
to worry about the gel coat getting screwed up.

Any thoughts?
