Not enough low end torque, or some other issue?

From talking to people that have 'em (the tamer, non-supercharged 425HP,
2-4V versions) they are rough at low RPM, don't like to idle, and foul plugs
on a regular basis unless wound up to high RPM. I met a guy with a kit
Cobra (replica) at a car meet that had installed a 427 in it. He was
complaining that he had to pull and clean the plugs just about every time he
took it out.

A few years ago I almost bought a '64 "R" code Galaxie 500. I passed on it
when I discovered that although in mint shape it would be a garage queen. I
enjoy cars that you can drive.
