Cheap guy, eh?

We of Scottish descent like to call it 'thrifty'.

Cheap ******* is the Irish version.

Why, because someone chooses to KEEP their money instead of trying to
act better than others? Typical.

And who was addressing you? Would you have karate chops the offending
person? And why are you jealous of me? Just because I live in a nicer
area, more access to top flight Broadway shows, salt water?

I don't care for salt water. and I guess you've not heard, but Atlanta
is the cultural center of the south. More broadway plays play here than
in the bay area. I've lived there, Bill. It's a hole. Might as well
give Oakland to the thug criminals. You have to drive for hours to get
out of the rat race. People driving nice cars living in shacks because
their seen more in their cars. Kids can't play outside of their back
yards for fear of some whacko stealing them, homeless people sometimes
seem to outnumber those who have homes, etc. Postage stamp size back
yards, neighbor next to neighbor with the minimum setback distance, no
trees.

Your opinion. Lots like to live here. There are bad areas of Oakland, and
really nice areas of Oakand. Atlanta all nice areas?

I must have that poster in the kill-bin. Bill, you and I both know, that the
ONLY people that dis the Bay Area, or CA in general, are the folks that
either can't afford to come here, or couldn't cut it when they did. g Yup,
my house with postage stamp back yard is worth almost One Million Dollars
(most being equity at this point), I wonder what a house with 10 times my
lot size is worth in hotlanta?

Shhhh... let everyone think the Bay Area sucks... we really don't want
anymore immigrants do we? :-

Kevin thinks Atlanta is world class because of it's laser light show at
Stone Mountain.

What you fail to understand is that the cost of living there is ALSO 10
times what it is here, so your value is no more than mine. My in-laws
house is also worth close to a million. They are considering selling
and moving here. Partly because they've visited enough to know the love
it here, and partly to get out of that crime riddled sewer. Our kids
actually get to play outside. My kids walk through the woods, by
themselves to a friends house. Almost unheard of in the east bay.

in Atl. is $1000.00 in CA?

Gasoline at $2.00 a gal. in Atl, is $20.00 in CA?

Wow at 10 times the cost of living, can you imagine what the telephone
and electricity will cost you in CA. Heck at 10 times increase in the
cost of living a high speed connection to the Internet will cost you
$500 month.

That reminds me of a Seinfeld episode where Kramer and his buddy Newman
borrowed a Post Office truck to haul aluminum cans from NY to Michigan for
the higher deposit value of the cans.

Maybe where your in-laws live, but most of Pleasant Hill is nice. sure
there are bad places, just as there are real bad places in Atlanta. People
come and also leave. Some can not handle the life style, others can not
afford life here. Costs more as more people want to live here than in
Georgia. Nicer weather, nicer terrain. Cost of living is not 10x. Houses
may be 5x, but lots of other costs are the same or lower. Live where you
want. But do not knock others areas because you are ignorant or jealous.
