my house with postage stamp back yard is worth almost One Million Dollars
(most being equity at this point), I wonder what a house with 10 times my
lot size is worth in hotlanta?

Shhhh... let everyone think the Bay Area sucks... we really don't want
anymore immigrants do we? :-

What you fail to understand is that the cost of living there is ALSO 10
times what it is here, so your value is no more than mine. My in-laws
house is also worth close to a million. They are considering selling
and moving here. Partly because they've visited enough to know the love
it here, and partly to get out of that crime riddled sewer. Our kids
actually get to play outside. My kids walk through the woods, by
themselves to a friends house. Almost unheard of in the east bay.

Anybody read a book called "Shoot?"
Read it about 30 years ago, and it's hilarious in a dark way.
About regional rivalry among some gents who were also National
Guardsmen. I highly recommend it.

A $3.00 Gal. of Milk in Atlanta, is $30.00 in CA? a $100.00 phone bill
in Atl. is $1000.00 in CA?

Gasoline at $2.00 a gal. in Atl, is $20.00 in CA?

Wow at 10 times the cost of living, can you imagine what the telephone
and electricity will cost you in CA. Heck at 10 times increase in the
cost of living a high speed connection to the Internet will cost you
$500 month.

That reminds me of a Seinfeld episode where Kramer and his buddy Newman
borrowed a Post Office truck to haul aluminum cans from NY to Michigan for
the higher deposit value of the cans.
