Just call me obtuse, but we're 3-4 posts into this thread and for the
life of me I can't figure out what the boating, fishing, navigation,
watersport or remotely related angle is. Can't find it in the first
one, or any of the follow-ups. Is this the most appropriate place on
the entire internet for this topic? That would seem pretty unlikely.
Why "waste" it here, when there are groups that would really appreciate
the political opinions, etc? Signed...."Obtuse" :-)

Entirely my fault your lordship.
I'll find out the name of the gun manufacturer and what brand bullets.
I'll
then promote them shamelessly.
Would that please your lordship?

?????

All I asked was that somebody explain to me what the boating related
angle of this item might be.

I can't think of anyone else but you who has boating on his/her mind
24/7/365.

Here is something you may want to build so you stay better focused when not
on the boat and sleeping on the hard.: http://plans4wood.com/tugboat.htm

Toot, toot!

Now that is priceless.

Please send Smithers plans for one with a large hole in the bottom for when
he soils himself during sleep.

But that's really not true.

When a person logs onto the boating NG, he or she is most likely there
to discuss boats or boating. Sort of like tuning in your bigscreen, I'd
think. If you go to the All-NFL cable channel, you would be surprised
to find Oprah Winfrey or the Larry King Live show, right?
Maybe halfway through an afternoon of combat footage on The History
Channel suddenly Martha Stewart cuts in to discuss how to cut festive
holiday decorations from colored craft paper?

Point being, just like you do at home with your TV set I try to "tune
in" different venues appropriate for different interests. If I want to
argue politics, (and I often do), there are places where that's
appropriate. If I want to discuss metaphysics, theology, or philosophy
(and I often do), there are places were that's appropriate. If I wanted
to run one of these silly "blogs" and pretend that anybody really gave
a ratz arse what I ate for breakfast or the names of the distant
relatives that dropped over during the holidays, there are places where
that's appropriate as well.

The only thing sillier than failing to be surprised when Martha Stewart
shows up on The History Channel would be trying to argue that she
really needs to tolerated or even encouraged to interrupt the expected
programming based based on some "freedom of speech" argument. If you've
got multiple interests, that's exactly why there is more than one
discusssion forum on the internet. (IMO)

Thanks Jim. I already own a fully functional version of a "tug" so I
don't need to build a toy.
Do drop me a line if you're coming out to the coast, you have a
standing invitation to go for a boat ride. :-)

Thanks for the invite Chuck but I don't plan on being in Seattle anytime
soon. The last time I was in your neck of the woods was over a dozen years
ago when I flew into Seattle from Sacramento to visit a customer in
Wenatchee. You certainly live in a beautiful part of the country.
