I will install this summer an air condition unit on my 1989 SeaRay 268.
The unit is a Mermaid 9000 BTU purchased from West Marine. I was wondering if someone has any layout on where will be the best location for the main unit (low noise, high performance, etc). Any advice is more than welcome. Sam |

Thank you for the input Jim.
I will prefer to install in a different location and my concern is the noise under the forward bunk. I hope that someone has a different location for the A/C unit. Jim,
thank you for your input realy apreciated. I hope that maybe someone will sugest a different place to locate the A/C unit. The forward bunk will be too noisy for someone (wife) to sleep on the forward bunk. Thank you, Sam Sam wrote: I will install this summer an air condition unit on my 1989 SeaRay 268. I have an 87' 268' and the A/C Unit is installed under the stearn Seat of
the Kitchen Table in the middle of the boat. There are 3 duct's. 1. Goes into the Closet blowing towards the Kitchen Table. The 2nd duct passes through the closet, and into the storage locker at the foot of the Aft Cabin bed, blowing into the Aft Cabin at the foot of the bed. the 3rd duct travels at the base of the table against the Port hull, through the front Storage locker below the seat, and then under the first port stoage cabnit, and then up from below into the 2nd cabnit, blowing towards Bow from inside the cabnit witha vent. This is the most logical application that we could find, and seems to work well. We have covered the Duct's in Carpeting to match the boat for looks, and protection of the tubes. Hope this helps. This is the setup that I had in mind, just wasn't sure if someone has
this setup. Where is the control thermostat mounted for the best results? Thank you, Sam Richard McKenzie wrote: I have an 87' 268' and the A/C Unit is installed under the stearn Seat of the Kitchen Table in the middle of the boat. There are 3 duct's. 1.
