Great theory, but it isn't supported by the evidence. The OT posts
continue year-round, mostly from a cadre of regulars who appear to
live at this NG. How much boating, or any other activity, can a
person do while posting dozens of posts every day? I would agree that
Chuck is tilting with windmills, but cold weather isn't the problem.
I think a majority of the regulars want a place where they can BS
about any subject that comes to mind, and sometimes that subject will
be boats and many times it won't. It also helps that there are no
restrictions on what can be said, and no repercussions for bad
behavior. This NG obviously fills a need for many regular posters.
