Anything over that forced me into a half trot. The thing was like an elevator, going up & down at certain intervals... sometimes at least a 4 degree incline. I also have a Bowflex Ultimate exercise machine that I would use for about 45 minutes. For me the inclines are a killer. Mine will go up to over 8 degrees and it feels like you are mountain climbing. How do you like the Bowflex machine? I've been eyeballing them. The equipment I have is excellent stuff ... commercial Gold's Gym type, but I think it's all outdated. Five machines, but each has a specific purpose, unlike the Bowflex that does many things. Eisboch I'd stick with free weights! I've got a pulley and weight type system that is nice, but you can tell the difference between it and free weights. I miss free weights and am looking into a decent setup now. I agree with the incline on the treadmill! What happened to me was that I thought I was getting plenty of exercise through Karate, what with training, and also teaching a few classes here and there. But, I soon realized that the teaching part, while making me tired, wasn't good form, I'd show the class something, work up a five minute sweat, then watch them for 15 or so, with just helping them with form, etc. SO, now I'm back at getting some pounds off, and weight training. |
