Default Thrust vs horsepower

The question about the '77 engine rattled my cage on this side. How
much thrust does it take to move at boat at what speed? How is this
calculated? I have the fourmulae for calculated wave and hull
resistance, but I'm never sure what that number is telling me.

But that IS a good quesiton. I never really gave it much thought. But
now I'm curious.

I think he was talking about the thread I started about my re-man 350
(5.7) being the true hp rating of the origional.
