Boating related slant on your discussion:

Do you realize that the Bible is not a single book? It is a library of
books.

If you went down to the public library to learn about, say, boat
handling you might find one book that describes how to launch a cartop
kayak and select the proper paddle. You might find another that says
you will need a crew of 60 to properly set the sails, and still another
that describes sailing single handed. You might find another that
describes coordinating the port and starboard engines when manuevering
a power boat, and yet another that describes how to manuever with a
single screw. Are all of these books "incorrect" because they
contradict one another? Is all of the information in the library
invalid because different people at different times and from different
perspectives wrote about a variety of aspects of boat handling? Of
course not. An informed person would realize that trying to apply the
literal instructions for sailing a 19th century frigate, paddling a
kayak, operating a sailing dinghy,
or bringing a twin screw Bayliner to the dock to a different situation
or even simultaneously
on any single vessel would result in disaster. Yet each book in the
library could easily expand a reader's total awareness of boat
handling, and all are true and useful within their
specific frame of reference.

Simply because some books in the library come to different conclusions
than other books in the library or address the same topic from
different perspectives, that would hardly be a valid reason to dismiss
any of the books or the entire contents of the library as bogus.

Your reference to Genesis, for example. I absolutely believe that the
Genesis cosmology accurately reports how an ancient people expressed
their interpretation and understanding of a creative force in or for
the universe. There is a lot to be learned from that, but (IMO) the
lesson has been wasted on those who glean nothing more than some belief
that the earth is only 6000 years old or that life as we know it in
this current era emerged during a period of seven rotations of the
earth.

Nice clarification.

Never said that. Never intended that. Sorry, Reggie, you can't put

In short, he could have been a real character, and could quite

No I don't believe the world is 6000 yrs old, do you?

Nope, it's much, much older.

Yes I do believe an individual by the name of Jesus lived about 2000

No, no one has shown me any diffinititve evidence of such. I don't
however NOT believe it, either, same reason, no one has shown me any

Can you perceive any difference between a physical attack with the
intent of serious bodily injury or death vs. carrying on a verbal

other of anything.

I don't know what your life is really like, or how old you are, or
what your real profession is. The only thing any of us have to go on
is the perception you put out here in rec.boats.

The image you project is that you're about 17-25, never been laid,
non-professional, maybe even developmentally challenged. Probably not
a boat owner, and not very worldly or successful. Keep in mind that
I'm not calling you these things, just stating that this is the image
you portray on this NG.

If you're married, as you say you are, then I give you this challenge.

She's read a lot of the stuff here. Especially when JimH went for
months and months telling vicious nasty lies about my wife and my

others here. Makes me wonder if those that condone that behavior are as
low as the OP.

Anyway, I'm about to go out of town again, so I won't be replying for

others have tried to tell you, so here's my turn at it...

You say this NG isn't real life and that you enjoy life. However, it
appears that the thing that you enjoy most is arguing in this NG.

Call your wife into the room, and get her to read a few of the
exchanges you've been involved in the last few days.

You won't do it. Because if you did, you'd be in the spare bedroom
with Joe for the next few weeks.

Do you believe the world is only 6000 years old as the bible
professes?

One can believe that Jesus was born, that he lived and that he died,
without believing the world is only 6000 yrs old. Most people who do
not believe Jesus was god or a prophet believe Jesus was born about
2000
yrs ago, why don't you?

If you don't believe the earth is only 6000 years old then you can't
believe the bible! I never said that I don't believe Jesus was born
about 2000 years ago. Where did you get that idea?

I probably got that idea when you said "alleged birth" or "can you prove
the existence of Jesus". If you believe Jesus was born, there is no
"alleged birth.

Yes, I said "alleged", as in declared or stated to be as described, or
doubtful, suspect. If I had of said the false, or fake birth, one could
ASSume that I didn't believe Jesus was born. I do, however have
suspicions about the accuracy of that, hence "alleged".

For what it is worth, there are many people who believe Jesus is the son
of god, and don't believe the bible is an accurate description of
natural history.

I agree. So?

It is impossible to have a conversation with you, so I really don't know
why I bother.

Bassy,
Since you realize rec.boats is not real life, why do you get yourself
worked up into a tizzy so often? The antagonistic individuals who loved
to have long name calling flamefest have for the most part left
rec.boats and moved onto other forums for name calling and fighting,
take a chill pill and enjoy life.

I'm not worked up, and I enjoy the hell out of life!

Do you enjoy all the arguing you do here on rec.boats?

I'm only trying to enlighten simpletons. What would you like to be
enlightened about?

Non-responsive. Answer the question, and if you don't understand it,
let me know.

I did. If you don't understand my answer, let me know.

I did. It was unresponsive. You didn't indicate your level of
enjoyment from your constant arguing in this NG, which was my
question. You ony stated your self-perceived purpose in this NG,
which was not my question to you.

Anyway, I'm about to go out of town again, so I won't be replying for
a while. But the basic premise I was driving at is just as many
others have tried to tell you, so here's my turn at it...

You say this NG isn't real life and that you enjoy life. However, it
appears that the thing that you enjoy most is arguing in this NG.

Call your wife into the room, and get her to read a few of the
exchanges you've been involved in the last few days.

You won't do it. Because if you did, you'd be in the spare bedroom
with Joe for the next few weeks.

Think about it.

What exchanges? Do you mean the one's where Dan follows me around like
a puppy to every single post and reply I make???

Pure bull**** and you know it, boy.

You're just a little punk hiding behind usenet. Bull****, you say? Take
a look around you, Dan. Every single post that I make or reply to,
there you are, with your childish bull**** and you know it. You're HERE
aren't you?

She's read a lot of the stuff here. Especially when JimH went for
months and months telling vicious nasty lies about my wife and my
family. Funny, you seem to have found THAT quite acceptable, as have
others here. Makes me wonder if those that condone that behavior are as
low as the OP.

Then she is as dumb as you are since you should have already explained
to her that this isn't the "real world".

Why do you keep looking for acceptance, boy? I think we all know...

What a little pussy you are. Hiding behind usenet talking about
someone's wife. You ARE as low life as JimH.

Who's hiding? This isn't the real world, right boy?

You are. You are nothing but a little punk. You'd NEVER have the balls
to say that **** to my face. Well, maybe you would, because you're not
very bright.....

Try to be more consistent and read before you post. You look like an
imbecile (see below) and your selective responses aren't fooling anyone.
You have accused me of responding to "Every single post that I make or
reply to" but you have yet to show me where I have entered more than 25%
of the threads you are currently haunting as a direct reply to you or
someone else.

"You ARE as low life as JimH."??? You should also pretend to be smart
and post sentences - in English. Maybe they don't teach that in Karate...

Look around, you dumb ass!!! Show me the threads that I'm involved in
that you haven't come into and started your petty childish bull****.
SHOW ME.

No.

Innocent until proven guilty or "cite" as you really, really, like to
say. Have at it - you won't succeed but you already knew that, right,
junior?

Just to show what an ignorant idiot you are. I'm not a junior. My first
name isn't my father's first name.

Awe, how cute!!! As is typical of people with an infatuation complex,
you are now getting frustrated and start childish and petty name
calling in order to garner the attention from me that you crave SO
much.....
Classic infatuation complex!
Anyway, here you go:
